Department of Bioinformatics and Biostatistics,
Shanghai Jiaotong University
Biostatistics and bioinformatics involve the theory and application of statistics and/or computer science to
a variety of biological topics. The recent advances in basic biology, medicine, pharmacology and agriculture present
new challenges for the data analysis and the related tool/source development in biostatistics and bioinformatics area.
The workshop aims to provide training to graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and multidisciplinary researchers
who are interested or already engaged in statistical and bioinformatical analyses in their own research area.
We are delighted to give you a warm welcome to Bioinformatics & Biostatistics Workshop 2016!
The Bioinformatics & Biostatistics Workshop have been held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University from 2010 to 2015 successully. Across the courses, Dr. Shyr received outstanding ratings and comments from students. Representative comments from previous workshops and lectures include:
For undergraduate/graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and multidisciplinary researchers who are interested or already engaged in statistical and bioinformatical analyses in their own research area.
Analysis of geneome sequences, gene regulation and biological network, computational molecular modeling and drug design.
Theoretical and practical challenges to be considered in designing and conducting a biomedical research.
Methods of analysis appropriate to various designs, the statistical approach for biomedical research.
The R software including coding for graphics, hypothesis testing, regression, and survival.
